# Indiana reports Monroe County’s first death from COVID-19

Indiana’s State Department of Health [dashboard of COVID-19 statistics](https://coronavirus.in.gov/2393.htm) now shows one death for a resident of Monroe County.

According to the [separate data feed](https://coronavirus.in.gov/map-test/covid-19-indiana-daily-report-current.topojson) that populates the dashboard’s display, the Monroe County resident died on April 7 and was between 70 and 79 years old.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Monroe County now stands at 83.
