(Juliette Kniola, Oct. 18, 2025 ) Last Saturday, Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County (HHMC) wrapped up a Blitz Build at its Osage Place development, which [first broke ground in 2021](https://bsquarebulletin.com/dirt-gets-moved-for-69-house-habitat-for-humanity-neighborhood-in-southwest-bloomington-hope-is-the-thing/). The development is situated on about eight acres on the southwest side of Bloomington—west of the intersection of Rockport and Rogers, next to RCA Park. Saturday’s work concluded a five-day flurry of work in connection with the “BuildBetter with Whirlpool” program and Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business to build five new net-zero houses. By the numbers, Saturday’s build includes the 250th home that HHMC has constructed in its 37-year history.
