The B Square is on site at Election Central at the corner of 7th and Madison streets in downtown Bloomington where the 28 duffel bags from each of today’s polling locations will be deposited by a bipartisan team of poll workers.
The polls closed at 6 p.m.
Monroe County clerk Nicole Browne has said no results are anticipated until at least 8 p.m.
The B Square will provide status reports here until the final results are announced.
6:26 p.m. Election Central: No precincts have yet arrived with their materials to report in. Monroe County. Election board members are here as well as election supervisor Karen Wheeler.
The election board has three members: the county clerk (Nicole Browne) and one appointee by each of the two major party chairs. The two appointed members are Democrat Shruti Rana; and Republican Donovan Garletts.
6:40 p.m. Election Central: Still no deliveries from any of the 28 polling locations. To help pass the time, here’s audio of the closing of the polls at 6 p.m. sharp, recorded at the election operations facility at 3rd and Walnut streets.
6:45 p.m. Election Central: The first polling location has delivered its ballots and memory card. It’s the poll workers from Tri-North Middle School who take the honors. As the first location to report, they receive a round of applause from the election workers who are staffing Election Central.
As the Tri-North poll workers depart, Election Central workers tell them: “We’ll see you in the fall!”
The informal status report made by one election worker to no one in particualr: “One down, 27 to go.”

7:19 p.m. Election Central: Blue duffle bags have been flooding into Election Central too fast to keep up with. The outstanding question will soon become: Which polling locations have not yet delivered their ballots?
7:21 p.m. Election Central: The B Square counts 28 blue duffle bags. That should mean all poll locations have reported. Have not yet confirmed this.
7:24 p.m. Election Central: Clerk Browne provides a crucial insight, which is that some polling locations have more than one blue duffel bag, because they have more ballots than will fit in one bag. That means: Not all locations have reported yet.
7:34 p.m. Election Central: The latest partial results have been released. (These results are for just 24 of 84 precincts.) The strongest showing so far in the sheriff’s race for the Democrats is by Ruben Marté. For judge, the strongest showing is by Emily Salzmann. For county commissioner, Lee Jones is making the stronger showing so far. And in the recorder’s race Amy Swain and Ashley Craner are basically in a dead heat.

8:10 p.m. Election Central: The final polling location seems like it has not arrived to report in.
8:22 p.m. Election Central: Another update to the partial results has been released. These results reflect 64 out of 84 precincts reporting.
