Bloomington police investigate shots fired into SUV with 7 aboard

Bloomington police are investigating a June 23 shooting in the 1000 block of North Summit Street, where a known male suspect allegedly fired 7–8 rounds into a white GMC SUV. Three adults and four children were inside; no injuries were reported.

Bloomington police are asking for help investigating several shots fired into a white GMC sport utility vehicle in the 1000 block of N. Summit Street on Tuesday (June 24) around 7:40 p.m.

According to the news release issued midday on Wednesday, seven or eight shots were fired into the vehicle, where three adults and four children were sitting. No injuries were reported.

BPD is asking anyone with information to call detective Kevin Frank at 812-349-3322.

According to the news release the shots were fired by a “known male suspect” after an argument with the driver. The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been found by police. The news release says that detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and review surveillance footage.
