County commissioner candidate: Perry Robinson

Perry Robinson is running for a four-year term as a county commissioner for Monroe County. Robinson is unopposed for county commissioner in the Republican Party primary.

In the Nov. 8, 2022 general election, Robinson will face the winner of the May 3, 2022 Democratic Party primary, which is contested between incumbent Lee Jones and Dominic Thompson.

Robinson works for Miller Eads, an electrical contracting company. His campaign website describes him as a tradesman for 40 years, and a union electrician for more than 20 years. He has served on the examining board member for the IBEW Local #725 for three years. He is a current member of the Van Buren water board.

His wife, Lisa Robinson, is a physician with Joie de Vivre Medical.

The priorities that Robinson lists out on his campaign website include: transparency in the county’s budgeting process; representation of all the county’s residents, including those outside the city of Bloomington; and long-term solutions that use existing resources, through better oversight of county operations.
