Photos: Cross-country bicycle race leader stops through Bloomington
Around 10 p.m. on Monday night, Philipp Kaider, a 39-year-old Austrian, pedaled through Bloomington as the race leader in the Race Across America (RAAM). Kelton O'Connell was out on the wet Monday evening to capture some photos of Kaider as he passed through town.


Around 10 p.m. on Monday night, Philipp Kaider pedaled through Bloomington as the race leader in the Race Across America (RAAM). The 39-year-old Austrian had about a 200-mile lead over second place rider Lukas Kaufman, another Austrian.
The RAAM is a 3,000-mile west-to-east bicycle race across the United States, which as for the last several years passed through Bloomington.
RAAM organizers have set up a live tracking map for race fans to locate the current location of the riders. Kaufman is projected to pass through Bloomington around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Kelton O'Connell was out on the wet Monday evening to capture some photos of Kaider as he passed through town.
