Final unofficial Monroe County results: Salzmann (judge); Marté (sheriff); Jones (commissioner); Swain (recorder)

The final unofficial results, with all 84 precincts counted, are in for Monroe County primary election races for 2022.

In the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for circuit court judge,  Emily Salzmann led the four-person field with 3,073 (34.9 percent) of the 8,813 votes that were cast . Karen Wrenbeck had 29.6 percent, Allison Chopra 21.1 percent, and April Wilson 14.4 percent.

Salzmann will face Republican Carl Lamb in the general election.

In the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for county sheriff,  Ruben Marté led the five-person field with 4,255 (48.0 percent) of the 8,855 votes that were cast. Troy Thomas had 25.3 percent, Angie Purdie 11.7 percent, Steve Hale 8.8 percent, and Joani Stalcup 6.2 percent.

Marté will face Republican Nathan Williamson in the general election.

In the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for county commissioner, incumbent Lee Jones prevailed over challenger Dominic Thompson with 4,988 (61 percent) of the 8,172 votes that were cast.

Jones will face Republican Perry Robinson in the general election.

In the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for recorder, Amy Swain prevailed over Ashley Cranor with 4,047 (50.25 percent) of the 8,054 votes that were cast. That works out to a difference of exactly 40 votes.

Swain will face Republican Paul White in the general election.
