The final news report by The B Square Bulletin has now been published.

Regular coverage by the B Square started in July 2019, which makes for a run of about five and a half years.

The choice of now as the ending time has no particular symbolic value. I’m just old and tired.

Specifically, I am tired of writing about the dysfunctional local government in Bloomington and Monroe County, Indiana.

I don’t think continuing that journalistic work will help improve things.

Of course, this weariness is my own fault, because local government is a self-assigned beat. It’s fair to say I have a terrible boss.

However, the state of our local government is not today’s topic. Today’s topic is just two words: Thank you.

Thank you to readers who made financial contributions, who corrected a mistake, who took the time to walk me through a complex topic with a long history, who relayed a timely news tip, or who sent me a message assuring me that they actually got the joke in the Almost Daily Bulletin email just in case I was wondering if anyone did.

A special thanks goes to anyone who came up to me in a public space and, after getting confirmation it was me, the guy who publishes The B Square, did not punch me in the mouth or kick me in the shins.

Finally, thank you to everyone who did some other thing that deserved thanks, even if I failed to say it at the time—I’m not so great at expressing gratitude.

Anyhow, thank you.

The B Square’s Patreon online automatic monthly donation platform has been shut down—that’s well in advance of what would be the Jan. 1, 2025 billing date.]
