Coming into their homecoming game on Friday night, the Edgewood Mustangs were looking to extend their unbeaten streak to 6-0, but the Beech Grove Hornets had other ideas. The Mustangs were shut out 12-0.

Bloomington police are looking for a dark-colored sedan in connection with a fatal shooting near the intersection of West Howe Street and South Morton Street on Friday (Sept. 26) around 9:30 p.m.

Two resolutions—one about the agency’s Title VI plan and another on stop funding—were adopted by the board of Bloomington Transit at its regular meeting on Tuesday (Sept. 23). Ridership in August was down compared to August last year, and is down 6% year to date.

Health and safety, along with school attendance, were topics presented to Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) Board of School Trustees at its regular meeting on Tuesday (Sept. 23). The board also held a hearing on its budget for 2026, and approved several routine bond resolutions.
