Even though Indiana now boasts around 350 American bald eagle nests, it’s not every day that Hoosiers get to watch a pair of eagles tend to their young ones.

Over the weekend, The B Square Bulletin was able to confirm what appears to be an active nest about a half hour’s drive north of Bloomington. It will soon be obscured by the tree leaves, which are now just budding out.

But on two visits in as many days, The B Square saw both adults perched outside the nest, then fly in, to futz around inside. Even if there were no fluffy-headed eaglets visible above the rim of the nest, it seemed almost certain the adults were tending to their hatchlings. Enjoy the photos.
