Square Spots: Poindexter at The Graduate

Another coffee shop has opened in downtown Bloomington: Poindexter Coffee at The Graduate, 210 E. Kirkwood Ave. Now serving a limited selection of food, it will offer its full menu of sandwiches and pastries starting Feb. 8. Hours are 6:30 a.m. til 9 p.m.

The venue has already drawn customers. On a rainy Monday afternoon this week, a group of women were knitting in one corner while some members of the Downtown Bloomington Inc. board checked out the space after their monthly meeting. That meeting was held in The Graduate’s main lobby nearby, with decor that includes vintage bleachers – though in a room that’s much more upscale than any high school gym.

Poindexter Coffee joins a crowded field of downtown Bloomington spots to grab coffee or tea. Those include:
