Watching IU win the national football championship: View from inside Nick’s English Hut
Indiana football finished 16–0 by beating Miami 27–21 in the national title game Monday night (Jan. 19). Many fans watched the final moments unfold on the TVs at Nick’s English Hut on Kirkwood Avenue. Photographer Amy Mason documented the scene for The B Square.

On Monday night (Jan. 19), Indiana University’s football team completed a 16–0 run with a 27–21 victory over the University of Miami in the national championship game. In the coming decades, when IU fans exchange stories about the team's storybook season of 2026, one question will surely arise: Where did you watch the game?
A few hundred, but no more, will be able to say that they saw the victory unfold on the screens of the iconic Nick’s English Hut on Bloomington's Kirkwood Avenue. There to document events for The B Square inside Nick’s on Monday was photographer Amy Mason.
