Bloomington police are asking for the public’s help finding a man who is pictured in newly released images as part of the ongoing investigation into the early-morning April 26 shooting on Kirkwood Avenue.
In a news release issued Thursday, the Bloomington police department says it’s looking for a “person of interest” who is described as a man wearing a distinctive backpack and a necklace. The backpack appears to resemble a shark or dolphin, a detail the news release highlighted as a key identifying feature.
Authorities are urging anyone who recognizes the man or has information about the shooting to contact detective Chris Scott at 812-339-4477 or by email at scottc@bloomington.in.gov. Police say they are continuing to review video and other evidence as the investigation continues, and are stressing that tips from the public could help identify those involved.
According to police, in the Kirkwood Avenue shooting on April 26 one young woman was shot and four others were wounded by bullet fragments.
